Then I opened iTunes and it played out of the Digi002. I clicked on Digidesign HW (002) and then RESTARTED my computer. It now showed up in the SOUND window as Digidesign HW (002). BUT - I turned my Digi002 OFF and then ON again, CLOSED the SOUND dialog box, reopened the SOUND dialog box. When I clicked on DigiCoreAudio device iTunes would still play out of my small internal speaker. When I went to SOUND in the SYSTEM PREFERENCES I would see DigiCoreAudio Device. Solution for Digi002 and iTunes I had trouble switching between PT and iTunes. You must quit your Core Audio Manager before opening your Pro Tools session. Done Of course you can't run Pro Tools at the same time. Right-click the flower icon on your menu status bar and select Digi 002 and your Soundflower output. Once SoundFlowerbed is installed, go to your Systems Preferences > Sound > Output and select SoundFlower (2ch) 3. Download an application called This is a neat app for routing audio between applications and its FREE. When I run a PT session it works fine, but up to now no luck in using it for non-PT related sound activities, any suggestions? I had the same problem for a long time.ĭigi 002 showed up under sound panel output tab but when I selected it, nothing happened. If I switch back to internal speakers as my output it plays fine (just not through my studio monitors). So now when I open, say, iTunes with the 002 as my selected sound output, I can't even get the song to play. My Digi 002 is recognized but it does not say 'Built-in Output,' I'm thinking my MBOX did but I don't remember. I had an MBOX 2 Pro before and in addition to running and monitoring Pro Tools sessions I had always selected my MBOX as the audio output in System Preferences > Sound. I just recently got my hands on a Digi 002.

Is there a Mac OS X version of the Digidesign ASIO. When using the MIDI ports of Digidesign hardware (Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, or Digi 001) with Sonar 2.2, you may experience problem with launching Sonar 2.2.

What's the goal? There is no need for Pro Tools 7 users to download the Standalone Digidesign Audio Drivers v7.0.

I don't know what the digirack 002 does, I have a MOTU setup of my own so I'm familiar with that. Main reason for considering the move over to LGX is upgradeable (apart from the OSX issue) and uses a lot less PCU power, still considering at the moment.Boy, mixing gear like this is always fun. Have to agree the PT has always been a bit clunk though v8 seems pretty stable, I even had it running on Yosemite, just would like to get it upgraded to the last version which I believe is v12 that will run on Sierra. I have been out of action for a few years now due to one reason or another so never upgraded my PT past version 8 so can only use that on my old MacBook Pro which is still going strong after 9 years ha ha and PT works a treat on it though I think it would benefit form an SSD and more RAM.

Pretty bad of Avid to drop support for older tech, it's a power thing I guess, surely it cannot be that difficult to upgrade drivers and keep their users happy? I think you will find the automation will work as normal with whichever version of Pro Tools you can get up and running on your current Mac, the main issue is being able to see the 002 as connected.
